Routing Arrival Banglore-Mysore-Nagarhol-Bandipur-Ooty-Munnar-Periyar-Kumarakom-Cochin Departure

Tropical rain forests are primary centers of species richness and endemism within the Western Ghats in India. There are more than 450 known bird species from this hotspot, of which 16 are endemic, mostly found in the lowland rainforests and high altitude montage forests of the Kerala. The Western Ghats is also considered as an Endemic Bird Area by Birdlife International. This tour is specifically designed to sight most of the endemic birds of the Western Ghats. Periyar is one of a birding Hot Spot in the Indian Subcontinent with nearly hosts 280 species in a narrow geographical area. Munnar on the other hand is mountainous and home to many of the endemic of the Western Ghats. The Bird sanctuary at Kumarakom National Park and Bodi Ghats area is present near Munnar.


DAY 01 :

Arrival Bangalore (Bangaluru)

Upon arrival at Bangalore (Bangaluru) airport meet to our representative, transfer to hotel, (Mostly the international flights arrive midnight).


DAY 02 :

Bangalore (Bangaluru) -Mysore (150km)

Breakfast at hotel, later proceed to sightseeing of the Silicon City Bangalore.

  • Rajajeshwari Temple
  • Local Market

After lunch check out from the hotel and transfer to Mysore, en route visit Srirangapatna and several places like:

  • The Musolieum of Tipu Sultan
  • Daria Daulat, The Palace of Tipu Sultan
  • Ranganathaswami Temple

On arrival at Mysore, check in to the hotel and for rest of the day you can involve yourself in some individual activities.


DAY 03 :

Mysore

Breakfast at hotel, later full day local sightseeing of Mysore City, which includes:

  • Mysore Palace
  • Chamundi Hill
  • Brindavan Gardens
  • Jaganmohan Palace Art Gallery
  • Local Market

Overnight at hotel.


DAY 04 :

Mysore-Nagarhole (96 Km)

Breakfast at hotel, later proceed to Nagarhole,

  • On arrival check in to the hotel, later visit
  • Jungle Safari. Get a chance to experience wildlife from close proximity
  • Rest of the time free for individual activities


DAY 05 :

Nagarhole

After an earlybreakfast at the Hotel or Resort, get ready to experience

  • Morning & Evening Jungle Safari in the "Rajiv Gandhi National Park"
  • Rest of the time free for individual activities.
  • After the day's activity, take an overnight stay at the hotel or resort.


DAY 06 :

Nagarhole-Bandipur (190 Km)

Breakfast at hotel or resort, later commence full day park ride to experience

  • Morning Park Ride to witness the Jungle Cat Tiger, Wild Boar, Chital Gaur
  • Drive back to hotel to have the lunch and get ready to commence the afternoon park ride.

Once done, take an overnight stay at the hotel or resort.


DAY 07 :

Bandipur-Ooty (80 Km)

Breakfast at hotel, drive to Ooty "Udhagamandalam"

  • En route visit some typical village, and on arrival check in to the hotel
  • Rest of the time visit local market.

Take an overnight stay at the hotel.


DAY 08 :

Ooty- Munnar (245 kms)

Breakfast at hotel, later take a long day drive to Munnar.

  • On arrival at Munnar, check-in to the hotel.
  • Rest of the time free for individual activities.


DAY 09 :

Munnar

After breakfast proceed to full day sightseeing of Munnar

  • Morning visit Mattupetty Dam
  • Tea Plantation
  • Tea Museum
  • Top Station
  • Rose Garden
  • Local Market

Overnight at hotel or resort.


DAY 10 :

Munnar-Periyar (Thekkady) (70 kms)

After an early breakfast drive to Periyar, Kumali or Thekkady.

  • En route visit some tea & coffee plantation and some typical Keralai Village.
  • On arrival check in to the hotel and for rest of the time visit
  • Spice Garden
  • Local Market

Once done with day's activity take an overnight stay at the hotel.


DAY 11 :

Periyar-Kumarakom (135 kms)

Early in the morning commence sightseeing

  • Boat ride in the Periyar Lake
  • Witness the wildlife which includes wild elephant, bison and languor monkey
  • Drive back to hotel or resort, take breakfast and check out.
  • Drive to Kumarakom, on arrival check in to the hotel


DAY 12 :

Kumarakom-Cochin (90 kms)

After the breakfast at hotel, you can start of with the sightseeing of Kumarakom, which includes:

  • Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
  • The Vembanad Lake, the largest backwater lake
  • Afternoon drive to Kochi (Cochin) and on arrival check in to the hotel for overnight stay.
  • Enjoy the Kathakali Dance show.


DAY 13 :

Cochin Departure

Full day sightseeing of Kochin City, including

  • Dutch Palace, Mattacherry
  • Jewish Synagogue
  • St. Francis Church
  • Fort Kochi (Chinese Fishing Net)
