North East India – The Home of Wildlife Sanctuaries

North East India from quite a time has been known for its rich heritage, natural calamity and splendor, scenic beauty and abode places. One of the most stunning and beautiful sight in North East is the Eagle’s Nest Sanctuary which is situated in the West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh. The place has various species of birds and reptiles, but has always been known as the bird’s paradise because of its innumerable collection of birds. One can also find some of the best known mammals in this place including the Wild Elephants, Bengal Tiger, Black Bear, Red Panda, Wild Arunachal Macaque, and Wild Gaur. The best time to visit the sanctuary is in the months from October to April.

Kaziranga National Park in Assam

Kaziranga National Park is one of the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site which is considered as one of the best wildlife sanctuaries in the entire North East region and is also the home to One-horned Rhinoceros in the World. Apart from the One-horned Rhinoceros, the place is known for Tigers, Deer’s and Elephants and is the perfect example of true flora and fauna. The best means of safari in the National park is by jeep which easily enters the deep forests and help you spot the wild animals, one can also enjoy the safari by seating in an Elephant. The best time to visit the place is in between the months from October to April.

Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary in Tripura

Situated in the North District of Tripura and in close proximity to the National Highway, the Rowa Wildlife Sanctuary is a very small National park in Northeast that offers some of the collection of wildlife animals and is the best platform for students who wants to study wildlife ecosystem.

Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary

Another National Park that offers the sights for Rhinoceros, after the Kaziranga National Park. Along with the Rhinoceros, one can also spot wild bears, boars and wild buffaloes. The place is also known as the ‘Bharatpur of the East’ because of its rich collection of birds’ species.
